2. Program Name: LL.B (Honours)

3. Objectives:
Law has been playing an increasingly important role in almost all spheres of modern life. Adegree in law would provide a useful qualification for both personal and professional development. In addition to careers within the legal profession, there are also wide opportunities for legally qualified graduates in many other fields. The objective of the LL.B. (Hons.) program is to have qualified and trainned graduates for all jobs in the legal field in Bangladesh as well as in abroad.

4. Duration of the Program:
The duration for LL.B. (Hons.) program will be four years divided into 12 semesters.

5. Semesters: 
There will be three semesters in an academic year, which are as follows:

• Spring- January to April
• Summer- May to August
• Fall- September to December

Each semester will be of 15 weeks duration with 13 weeks for class teaching, one- week break for examination preparation and one week for examinations.

6. Admission Requirements:
Minimum second division or CGPA of 2.5 in both SSC and HSC/ Equivalent examinations.

7. Degree Requirements: 
a) Completion of 125 credit hours.
b) Passing of all courses individually and maintaining a minimum CGPA of 2.5.

8. Medium of Instructions: 
The Medium of instruction of LL.B. (Hons.) Program is English.

9. Grading System :
Grading will be made to assess students’ performance. The grade will be assigned on the overall evaluation of a student’s performance on the basis of midterm examination,class attendance, class perfomance, assignment, and semester final examination. The teachers responsible for the course will determine Grades/GPA. The final result will be prepared by cumulating the grade point average over the courses. The UGC approved common grading system is adopted for assigning a letter grade and grade point. This is given in the following table:

10. Obligatory Courses: 
All courses of LL.B.(Hons.) program are compulsory for the students.
