Master in Governance and Development Studies (MGDS)
The Master of Governance and Development Studies (MGDS) at the European University of Bangladesh (EUB) provides challenging and innovative teaching in the field of development studies, a rapidly growing area of study concerned with the people, economy and society, and to foster high quality research on the problems of developing countries in general and Bangladesh in particular. Attracting students and scholars committed to interdisciplinary theoretical and methodological approaches to the study of social and economic change, the Department shall promote greater public understanding, advance independent analysis, and encourage further professional competence on issues related to development with a view to contributing towards poverty alleviation, the overarching goal of the country.
The Programme also intends to work with, and for, a multicultural community, in a dynamic environment, stimulating open dialogue and the exchange of experience of development issues among students and staff who collectively represent an exceptional range of experience and theoretical interest.
Course Structure of the One Year Programme in MGDS
MSS in Economics is a 51 credit our programme. These credits are divided into Foundation, Core, Specialization courses. Core Course is compulsory. Foundation and Specialization are alternative (student has to take 3 courses form foundation courses and 2 courses from each group of specialization courses).
